Autumn Escape

Saturday, October 4, 2014

Regardless of how great one's life is, it is natural to get a little stir crazy. Wyet and I have especially noticed this to be true in our life. In order to make it through the mundane routine of work and daily life, it is important for us to have something to look forward to. Last year, we planned a trip to Park City in early October because autumn is my favorite time of year, and I wanted to see the beautiful changes in the mountains. Once we arrived, we realized we missed the beat, Park City was already covered in snow. Bound and determined to enjoy the autumn beauty, we planned another PC trip this year. We went in mid-September, and we were not disappointed.

We spent the long weekend eating great food, shopping and not focusing on any agenda. Sometimes a vacation {or getaway in our case} turns out to be just as much work as real life, and in case we have all forgotten, that is most definitely not what it is intended for. A getaway should be just that, an escape from the ordinary; a relaxing journey in which time {for once} is on your side.

Spending uninterrupted time with Wyet is the perfect reminder as to why I fell in love with him so many years ago. Whether having late night cocktails in our room while telling stories or walking down historical Park City Main Street, I remember the best part about our relationship is that we genuinely love spending time together, and we have a hell of a lot of fun while doing so. I am happy that we take the time to escape together every few months. It settles the tension of everyday life and sends us home with a renewed sense of love for the life we have chosen, and instills in us a little deeper, that we truly are with the one we were meant for.
The changing leaves in full swing.
The hotel we stayed at was amazing!
Amazing man + giant room + modern artwork = bliss
We definitely loved the pub-like eating options, and we were not about to pass on a Wasatch brew.
We enjoyed a little shopping on Saturday afternoon. This bookstore was perfect.
Head over heels for this man
Wyet bought us tickets to see The Producers at The Egyptian Theater. Needless to say, I had the best looking date there.
